To do or not to do???
OK, well here I go! For my first post & attempting to start blogging, I have a question to throw out. Any & all responses would be greatly appreciated. As of about a week ago, one of many crazy ideas popped into my mind......what if......I set something up to where I would have a monetary goal in mind & if I reached that said goal, I would shave my head??? Yup! Shave my head. I thought that maybe by offering such, considering how long my hair is & how long I've been growing it out, it would make for a great incentive to raise money for 3 very important organizations/people I love. In doing so, I would be able to help yet another charity, 'Locks of Love' or one like that in which I could donate my long hair for wigs. :0) It's weighing super heavy on me because I am a baby when it comes to even trimming my hair & speaking of baby, I can tell you right now, my youngest son cried when I was just joking around about cutting a little bit off. He doesn't like change. haha! I've had some support from friends & some family members, but I've also had people wanting me to really question what it would be like to have no hair for some time. I don't want to sound selfish or self absorbed, but having a good appearance does go a long way in the work I do. I deal w/people on a daily basis & maybe they won't want to work with me because I am bald & funny looking. I just don't know.....to be continued I suppose. Thank you to all who took the time to swing by my page & read my very first blog ever!!! Oh my & being that it is Wednesday, a very happy Bon Jovi day to you all!

I applaude you in this bold thought, but having grown my hair out for 3 years in the past and summarily cutting it all off (thus leaving me feeling like some random movie "extra" credit as "Asian Guy #3"), I have to say that it will take you forever to grow your sideburns back to the point that they can be tucked back behind the ear... If you do go shaving it bald and someone gives you a funny look just say "Thanks, I'm in remission..." complete w/ the awkward pause at the end, and let it sink in for the full effect. ^___^
ReplyDeleteHaha! That would be super funny, but then I'd feel bad for making them feel bad....All 3 of my kids have clearly stated, "Absolutely NOT Mom"!....So the polls are still open, but it's not looking good. I have to think of something more creative & less evasive to the hair I guess. In due time, it will come to me. haha! Thanxx for taking the time to read & respond. You're one of the best Andrew & I'm glad to know you! Hope you have a great day today!!!
ReplyDeleteSiouxsie (Is it one "x" or two? I'm confused.) First and foremost, I am so proud of you for starting a blog! I'm following you with my google account and will be sure to check in. Also, I like your "About Me" and your enthusiastic voice.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to your internal/external debate over whether or not to shave your head, I had the instinct to say GO AHEAD AND DO IT! But since it appears that there may be professional ramifications, I say, why not commit to cutting of a large quantity instead of shaving it? That way, you can still contribute to two great causes without worrying too much about your job. I'm sure you'd look great in a short haircut!
As for your kids, I remember when I was about 10, my mom completely cut her hair short (it used to be super long), and my sister and I cried HYSTERICALLY. Another time my father shaved his mustache, and my sister... again... cried hysterically. It can be really shocking to children when their parent suddenly looks different than they have in years, but they will get through it... and as long as you keep them updated as to what you're doing, I'm sure they will be okay (I mean, celebrities' kids deal with it, right?)
I look forward to reading more of your posts. So excited! :)
It's w/2 x's. :0) Unfortunately for some reason FB doesn't allow me to put 2 in my name??? No idea why, but oh well. haha! Thank you so much for your kind words & encouragement. I think I have decided that I am going to keep the hair, but thanxx to Pintrest, I have found a creative project that just might work in earning some charity money. :0) I remember seeing myself w/short, short hair before & I'm not so sure I liked it so I'm pretty sure my kids would be scared either way shaved or short. haha! I'm glad you're following me! I love reading your blogs & getting to know Equis through your eyes. Just hearing your insight on life is wonderful! It truly does mean a lot to me that you are following me. :0) I hope you have a great day today!
DeleteOops... I mean THREE organizations. I love your good-hearted nature...
